yah.. well depends on your status ... if yourreally wealthy it would b cheap if you gave them 25 bucks.. but i think that is good... watever you feel is appropiate ... and im pretty sure they wont b complainingIs a small Christmas gift (%26lt;$100)appropropriate for your maid, postman, garbage collector, barber, %26amp; paperboy?
$100? Are you one of those rich kids on Gossip Girl? My understanding is that postal workers are not supposed to accept cash gifts. They can accept small items like ties, candy, etc. I recall an ep from Seinfeld where Jerry and George gave $ to Elaine for her b-day and ppl kept asking them: ';What are you, her uncle?'; Cash can come off as tacky. Give them cookies, candy, or a gift card.Is a small Christmas gift (%26lt;$100)appropropriate for your maid, postman, garbage collector, barber, %26amp; paperboy?
$100 is alot for someone you don't even speak to. But people today seem to act like money grows on trees the way that $100 or even $50 is considered average to cheap for a stranger or someone they know but aren't close to at all.
Particularly where I live, no one knows their postman, garbage collector or paperboy and they don't seem to care about anyone's property. Most people don't have maids. Until the postman starts putting mail in the box neatly instead of shoving it in (and unless they come to your door, they will put whatever envelope you give them in with the rest of the outgoing mail and lose it) and the garbage collectors quit tossing the can across the street one directlon and the lid another, I honestly don't feel they deserve anything because they don't care about anyone else. That's just me though.
to much
i dont think its a appropriate not on that amount maybe $25.00 would be more appropriate
Yes make their day! god bless you!
Yes and you will make their day :-)
Christmas gifts are appropriate for any of these people and definately appreciated. The amount of the gift depends upon your finances and the amount and quality of work they do for you.
Most people I know don't give $100 to their closest relatives or friends, much less service workers they don't even know. A gift is fine if you want to give one but I would give them something other than money.
