He never took the Giants past the wildcard and when he finally gets good he has to retire to be another annoying ex player announcer typeIs Tiki Barber letting the City Of New York down?
They went to the Super Bowl in 2000 and lost to Baltimore. Is Tiki Barber letting the City Of New York down?
He's letting down us Giants fans because he's retiring. I mean it's good for him to end it on the top of his career, but it just disappoints the Giants fans that we can't see him play anymore or help out our team. He was probably one of the biggest leaders of our offense. :( We'll miss him, that's for sure.
He cant stay young forever and he has the right to retire when he feels it is his time. If you think his career was a letdown to the city of New York or the Giants fans, thats another question all together.
Of course not, he owes NY nothing. if anything NY owes him. I have been to 3 games at Giant Stadium and can tell you from first hand experience that Giant fans are the most unappreciative, rude, obnoxious, arrogant fans Ive meet anywhere.
I would never take my boy to a game there and don't think I'm just ragging on the Giants because we are both huge Giant fans.
I am embarrassed and feel sorry for the way the players are treated there.
I don't think he's letting anyone down. Also, he has been one of the top backs in the NFL for more than a few years, not 'finally getting good'. He may be leaving a bit early, but I can't begrudge a guy who's gotten the crud beat out of him for more than 10 years (including college). Good luck to him in the TV booth.
